Laura Dabbish

Laura Dabbish is a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute within the School of Computer Science and the director of the Connected Experience Lab. She directs the Connected Experience Lab, addressing social, technical, and policy issues in emerging technology. She’s studied social influences on security and privacy behavior, experiences of gig workers in algorithm-driven systems, and the dynamics of open collaboration. Laura holds a PhD and MS in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Psychology from the University of Southern California. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and fiber arts.
