Announcing our COVID-19 Tech Challenge Grant
Winning teams will be allotted up to $15,000 over three months to execute their projects
San Francisco, CA, March 19, 2020 — The Aspen Tech Policy Hub is pleased to announce up to three challenge grants of up to $15,000 for policy-oriented technologists to work on projects that can help mitigate the effects of COVID-19.
These grants will be awarded to experienced technologist teams who propose ideas to mitigate the short and long-term effects of COVID-19. Example projects to be funded might include providing best practices on mitigating cybersecurity risks while small businesses are shut, using emerging technologies such as virtual reality to mitigate effects of social isolation or providing data analysis of real-time COVID-19 information to help health care workers.
“During the COVID-19 crisis, the internet and other technologies have already been a lifeline for people around the globe who are now sheltering at home in hopes of preventing the spread of this deadly virus,” said Betsy Cooper, founding director of the Aspen Tech Policy Hub. “We believe efforts at the intersection of technology and policy can help in so many other ways and we’re excited to have an opportunity to help technologists build new solutions to support communities in need.”
Winning teams will be allotted up to $15,000 over three months to execute their projects. Applications are due March 30.
